Shane Doan coasted to a fifth consecutive success when he easily disposed of the field in the feature Amory Phillips GCM Memorial Handicap over 1 100 metres for three-year-olds and older rated 95-75 yesterday at the Garrison Savannah.

Carrying the top impost of 130 pounds, jockey Rickey Walcott had little to do other than steer the Fab Five-owned bay gelding home by two lengths on the Hall Of Fame Raceday.

The seven-year-old, which is trained by leading conditioner Andrew “Busha” Nunes, won in a time of 1:06.1 minutes on the good-to-firm track.

Drawn one and two, respectively, Sir Jimmy and Joshua rushed to the lead, only to find the 1-4 favourite Shane Doan on the outside travelling swiftly. Walcott then unleashed Shane Doan at the top of the hill and the pair sped to a comfortable victory. (LY)
