The Bajan Gems welcomed the green light to return to the netball court with their first match simulation at the Netball Stadium yesterday morning.

The COVID-19 protocols had limited the Bajan netballers’ preparation the past two months for a two-Test series against Scotland to just drills and physicals.

President of the Barbados Netball Association (BNA) Nisha Craigwell told Sun Sport the BNA received clearance on Friday morning from Attorney General Dale Marshall.

“We were almost at a stage of panic since following [the sending of] letters and meeting with the COVID-19 Monitoring Unit and other Government officials, we were still being denied permission to engage in court practice. This was very frustrating, as this tour to Scotland is critical in determining our fate for next year’s Commonwealth Games in Birmingham,” Craigwell said. (KB)
