Vendors say ‘things dead’

Business has not picked back up for some vendors who ply their trade outside the Eagle Hall Public Market in St Michael.

Yesterday, a number of the 15-odd vendors, who were mostly selling ground provisions and vegetables, reported that things were “dead” and “slow”.

They said there had been a decline in sales since the lockdown in February as Barbados reported more COVID-19-positive cases, older folk were advised to stay home and more people lost their jobs.

Judy Mckie said “things are very, very slow” even though she had a stall at the market and one at the Cheapside Public Market in The City.
