Dennis Johnson passes

Veteran broadcaster Dennis Johnson passed away earlier today.

He was 64 years old.

Johnson, who was born in Grenada, was best known for his many roles at Voice of Barbados/Starcom Network.

He joined the team in River Road on November 1, 1994 as a freelance moderator, but a short time later, was appointed announcer/moderator.

Johnson rose through the ranks in the Radio Services Department to senior programme assistant, senior producer and programme director.

He was also a popular and knowledgeable moderator on the call-in programme, Down To Brass Tacks.
