Kevon Lucas will lead Under-20 team in Concacaf Qualifiers

Kevon Lucas has been appointed captain of the Barbados Under-20 national football team ahead of their first match in the Concacaf Qualifers tonight at the Felix Sanchez Olympic Stadium in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

The 17-year-old Graydon Sealy student, a midfielder for local club United Stars Alliance, will wear the armband in debut for Barbados versus Bermuda.

The kickoff is 7 p.m. Barbados time.

Lucas told Nation Online he was honoured to be named captain.

“It a good feeling and a dream come true for me. This is something that I always wanted since I became a footballer. I was working hard for the moment and it has finally come now. My hope is to lead the boys to a successful tournament,” he said.

Meanwhile, head coach Fitzerald Carter also announced centre-back Honor Bradshaw as the vice-captain. (AGB)
