Minister of Broadcasting Wilfred Abrahams paid tribute to Warren Forte, popularly known as DJ Jon Doe, who passed away on Sunday.

I am saddened and shocked at the very sudden passing of Warren Forte, who was the well-known DJ Jon Doe, employed at Starcom Network Inc.

Mr Forte, who has left us too soon at [47] years old, was a programme assistant and supervisor at the radio station Hott 95.3.

Warren was a very popular radio personality and the favourite DJ of many with his morning show at Hott FM. I know that musicians and others in the entertainment sector, his colleagues in broadcasting and his radio fans will miss him deeply after his almost 22 years on air.

Warren’s passing, following so closely on that of another Starcom personality and legend, the veteran broadcaster Dennis Johnson, adds to the grief of staff members at the company, but more broadly, brings home to us the role of impact of media workers in our society. I offer my deepest condolences to Mr Forte’s spouse, relatives and friends at this time of loss.   (PR)
