Police identified the body found at Weekes Land, Goodland, St Michael, as that of Mario Hinds.
The 29-year-old of Richmond, St Michael was shot and killed in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Police public relations officer, acting station sergeant Michael Blackman, said they received a report around 7:06 a.m. of a body lying in a track in the district.
Hinds was pronounced dead at the scene.
