Police confirm it was Samara Bristol’s body found near Mangrove

The body found in the vicinity of the Mangrove landfill on Sunday morning has been identified as that of missing woman Samara Cameisha Kymel Bristol.

Police say she was identified by a family member.

The 30-year-old was reported missing on Tuesday by her mother Samantha Bristol of Queen’s, New York, and an investigation was launched.

An extensive search was conducted in Airy Cot, St Thomas, where she was staying, as well as nearby Farmers, Welchman Hall and Mangrove on Saturday, but it was unsuccessful.

Bristol’s body was found around 11: 45 a.m. on Sunday.

A person of interest is in police custody and investigations are continuing.
