New COVID infections at 149

There were 149 new COVID-19 cases reported for Sunday, November 21, comprising 63 males and 86 females, from 1 241 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory

The positive cases comprised 33 people under the age of 18, and 116 who were 18 years and older.

There were 715 people in isolation facilities, and 7 531 in home isolation.

One person died from the virus on Sunday. A 93-year-old fully vaccinated woman passed away at the Harrison’s Point Isolation Facility.

As at November 21, 2021, the number of people who died from the virus stood at 211.

The public health laboratory carried out 426 098 tests since February last year, and recorded 23 944 cases (11 455 males and 12 489 females) of COVID-19.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 152 928 (67 per cent of the eligible population).

The number of people who are fully vaccinated is 134 847 (49.8 per cent of the total population or 59 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
