Businesses get financing ease

Date:

Close to 400 businesses associated with the Barbados Trust Fund Limited programme had their loans restructured.

Business development manager, Kirk Dottin, said that was necessary as the COVID-19 pandemic affected some of the entrepreneurs’ abilities to repay and led to the closure of some businesses.

“Through the proactive nature of the agency, we did a survey and tried to contact every client after the situation. Some businesses closed, and we put in place a restructuring and financing programme for persons in the portfolio who experienced a downfall and lapsed in payments.

“We would have taken off the arrears and gave them a fresh start with fresh repayments,” Dottin said.

He made these comments yesterday at the Trust Fund’s Customer Appreciation day activities, where they rewarded 15 of their clients.  (TG)
