City stores pleased with Black Friday sales

Date:

Bridgetown stores are reporting successful Black Friday sales.

While some managers are saying the traffic diversions due to the upcoming Independence celebrations are slowing down business, bargain hunters were still making their way to Town.

This was evident at Courts Barbados Ltd, where there were long lines of people waiting to enter. Marketing manager Ann-Marie King said they opened at 7 a.m. and business started booming two hours later.

“Things really picked up from around 9 a.m. and we had a steady stream of patient and happy shoppers from then. We are remaining open until 8 p.m. at Emerald City and until 9 p.m. at our Haggatt Hall and Sheraton branches to ensure everyone looking for a deal can get one,” she said, adding televisions and small and large appliances were the big movers.
