Riri’s home for republic celebrations

Barbadian Ambassador Robyn Rihanna Fenty is home for the republic celebrations.

She is listed among the dignitaries for tonight’s festivities which start at 11 o’clock in National Heroes Square.

Nation News was reliably informed that she arrived on the island over the weekend.

Entertainer and businesswoman Rihanna, is scheduled to join President-elect Dame Sandra Mason, England’s Prince Charles, Prime Minister Mia Mottley,  National Hero Sir Garfield Sobers and other specially invited guests for the ceremony.

Dame Sandra Mason will officially cast away the office of Governor General and become Barbados’ first President as the country transitions to a parliamentary republic on the 55th anniversary of Independence.

The event will be streamed live on The Nation Barbados’ Facebook channel. (SAT)
