Barbados lost one of its most outspoken social activists on Sunday.

Attorney at law, Douglas Trotman died after a brief illness.

Trotman recently returned to Barbados after relocating to live and work in the neighbouring island of Nevis.

As soon as reports of his death surfaced earlier today, scores of friends and former classmates from The Lodge School took to social media to offer their condolences to Trotman’s family.

Trotman had always been passionate about improving the lives of Barbadians and strengthening the social fabric of the country.

He had dreams of the development of a number of cities outside of Bridgetown, predominantly in the north of the island, which he felt would have led to economic prosperity for Barbados.
