Gems dazzle Rams

Barbados’ netballers ended their tour of Scotland with an impressive
65-40 victory over The Isle of Man Rams at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow yesterday.

The Gems ended three successive losses to Scotland with sure-shot Shonica Wharton leading the attack scoring 39 goals from 45 attempts.

Wharton impressively sank a dozen gems from just inside the arc and as she took a break in the fourth quarter the modest crowd applauded loudly.

At the other end of the court, goalkeeper Shonette Azore-Bruce quietly achieved her 100th Test cap, but was noticeably intimidating in her attacks on the Rams. (KB)
