Hot shots Shakeem Nurse and Shaquan Henry advanced to Saturday’s semi-finals of the Manners And Respect Junior Road Tennis Tournament following convincing victories last Sunday at the Pelican Village courts in Bridgetown.

In the best-of-three 16-21 age group males’ competition, Nurse progressed easily with a 21-15, 21-15 win over Daniel James while Henry defeated the energetic and animated Jamario Lake 21-11, 21-12.

Henry made light work of his opponent, but it was Lake’s entertaining antics and screams of jubilation after every point he won that brought spectators to their feet in applause.

The match of the day, however, featured a Bush Hall, St Michael rivalry which 11-year-old Mathoni Forde won over 13-year-old Raheem Nurse 25-23, 18-21, 21-19 in the Under-15 boys’ division. (AG-B)
