Operation Yuletide, the Christmas crime-fighting action of the Barbados Police Service, is in full swing.

Commissioner of Police Richard Boyce is assuring Barbadians that members of the service will be out in numbers for the season.

“We have created an all-embracing policing plan, which encompasses the Southern, Bridgetown and Northern divisions, as well as operations and support, to cater to the needs of the business community and public.

“We have done our risk assessments and analysis and will be in a position to respond to any occurrences. We are satisfied we will deliver the kind of policing which will allow people to go about their business feeling safe,” he said.

The commissioner said the service will be employing both mobile and foot patrols in heavily trafficked areas and will be using the media to inform business houses on how to avoid becoming victims of crime.
