47 new COVID cases on Christmas eve

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 47 new COVID-19 cases (23 males and 24 females), from the 800 tests carried out on Friday, December 24

Of these, five were under the age of 18, while 42 were 18 years and older.

There were 120 people in isolation facilities, and 869 in home isolation.

The public health laboratory carried out 464v644 tests since February last year, and recorded 27 629 cases (13 138 males and 14 491 females) of COVID-19.  There have been 260 deaths from the viral illness.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 155 493 (68.1 per cent of the eligible population). The number of people who are fully vaccinated is 142 830 (52.7 per cent of the total population or 62.5 per cent of the eligible population).

The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
