The bustle before Christmas

Bridgetown was full of the typical hustle and bustle associated with the day before Christmas.

Some morning showers briefly dampened proceedings but did not last too long, much to the delight of manager of Collins Limited, Bruce Mayhew.

“We started off slow because of the rain but now it has eased, more people are starting to come. I predict last-minute shopping will start around noon just like on Sundays.”

Mayhew said people were buying gift sets, chocolates, beauty care products – especially for the face and hair as the rest of the face is usually hidden behind a mask these days – as well as immune system boosters. He added he noticed some people buying pet care products. (CA)
