President of the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) Verla De Peiza is calling on Barbadians to come out in their numbers on January 19 to return the party to power.

Speaking during the launch of St Michael North candidate Ricardo Harrison’s branch office in Eden Lodge yesterday, she said the Dems wanted to ensure that “we really become one people and one Barbados”.

“Two Barbadoses is not just loose talk. We feel it and we know it, and it is time that we address it. I thank the outgoing Prime Minister for giving us the opportunity early to redress that imbalance.

“I call on all the people of St Michael North to join with all of the people of Barbados to fix the mess – three and a half years to unravel an entire society, but 12 hours to fix it. From six in the morning to six in the evening on January 19, give Uncle Philip [former parliamentary representative Sir Philip Greaves] a birthday present for me please, and return the Democratic Labour Party to represent the people of Barbados,” she said to applause.
