Barbadian jockey Reshawn Latchman announced himself at Charles Town Races in West Virginia for 2022 as he got his season going with a brace.

Latchman who finished in the top half of the jockeys standings last year landed Thursday’s race four with Ladies Signature and race five astride Tina’s Song.

His first win saw him tracking the leaders Cat Lak and Gandhi’s Castle from the gates in a four and one half furlongs claiming sprint. Installed as heavy favourite, Ladies Signature, the six-year-old bay mare got home by one length.

The pair issued their final challenge swinging for home an effective move that secured them a winning time of 52.63 seconds. (LY)
