Barbados Labour Party candidate for St Michael North West, Neil Rowe, has been reinstated as the parliamentary representative.

Rowe eclipsed Democratic Labour Party (DLP) first-time candidate Ryan Walters by 842 votes to remain comfortably in the seat, polling 1 914 to Walters’ 1 072. A total of 3 010 votes were cast yesterday, with 2 986 valid ballots and 24 spoilt.

Returning officer Charles Haynes delivered the results just before 1 a.m. at the V. Eudene Barriteau Auditorium at The Ellerslie School, St Stephen’s, St Michael.

A humble Rowe told the media he intended to continue the work he had started and accomplished for the constituency over the three and a half years he held the seat.

He said he believed in real representation and would continue to serve the people of St Michael North West faithfully.

In the 2018 General Election, Rowe defeated DLP’s Chris Sinckler 2 489 to 1 991 respectively or with 55.56 per cent of the vote.  (RA)
