NAB workers finally paid

After complaints from workers and enquiries from the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW), National Assistance Board (NAB) workers have started to receive their entire salary for January.

Deputy general secretary of the NUPW Wayne Walrond provided that update yesterday following the complaints earlier this week.

“The workers monies are on the bank,” Walrond told the Daily Nation.

The update came following an appeal by the union to the Government, when he asked the Government to ensure they paid their staff on time. At that time, the workers who were paid bi-monthly had not received their second payment for January.

On Tuesday, Walrond said although plans were put in place to rectify the situation, he stressed that the Government needed to upload their promises to staff. (TG)
