Winners collect lotto loot at retail outlets

For the first time since 2020, the Barbados Lottery has presented jackpot winners with their cheques at the outlets where the winning ticket was bought.

Public relations manager Kellee King-Campbell, speaking yesterday when almost $1 million was handed over to two lucky winners, said COVID-19 had necessitated a change in operations.

“Normally, our big winners would have to come to our main retail store in Independence Square [The City] and we would send the information to the press. These are our first big jackpots for the year and we thought it was time to bring the ceremony back to the retailers,” she said.

Christopher Campbell and Jamel Depeiza shared the $930 000 Mega 6 jackpot, each receiving a cheque for $465 000. (CA)
