Fatal accident at Rices

A 25-year-old man died in an accident at the junction of Rices Main Road and Cave Land Road, St Philip, around 4 p.m. on Saturday.

He was identified as Zekie Williams, a Vincentian national who resided at Rock Hall, St Philip.

According to police, Williams was travelling on the back tray of G4991 when it was involved in a collision with the truck, XB1273. The latter was going in an easterly direction along Rices Main Road.

Williams sustained injuries after he was thrown onto the wall of the Rices Pavilion. He was transported by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival.

This is the fourth road fatality for 2022, resulting from three collisions.
