195 new virus cases

The Best-Dos Santos Public Health Laboratory recorded 195 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases (83 males and 112 females) from the 1 263 tests carried out on Thursday, February 24.

The cases comprised 42 people under the age of 18, and 153 who were 18 years and older.

There were 95 people in isolation facilities, and 2 123 in home isolation.

As at February 24, the virus had claimed 312 lives.

The public health laboratory has carried out 582 620 tests since February 2020, and recorded 54 731 COVID-19 cases (25 407 males and 29 324 females).

Under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, the total number of people with at least one dose is 159 990 (70.1 per cent of the eligible population).  The total number of fully vaccinated people is 149 234 (55.1 per cent of the total population or 65.3 per cent of the eligible population).
