Barbados will remain under a flood watch until 6 a.m. on Saturday, says the Barbados Meteorological Services.

A flood watch is issued when the conditions are favourable for flooding within the next 48 hours. It does not mean that flooding will occur, but it is possible.

A trough system has been affecting Barbados, bringing isolated maximum accumulations of up to 50mm in moderate to heavy showers and periods of rain throughout the day. Conditions remain favourable for further accumulations of 25 to 50mm of rainfall.

The Barbados Meteorological Services will continue to closely monitor this weather feature, with an update being provided at 6 a.m., or sooner if conditions change. (PR/SAT)
