171 new virus cases

As of Friday, February 25, 171 people tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) from the 1 107 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.  Of the 171 people , 87 were males and 84 were females.

From the new cases, 30 individuals were under the age of 18, and 141 were 18 years and older. There were 74 people in isolation facilities, and 2 262 in home isolation.

One Barbadian male, aged 73, succumbed to the virus on Friday, February 25, bringing the total number of COVID-19 deaths to 313.

The public health laboratory has carried out 583 727 tests since February 2020, and recorded 54 902 cases (25 494 males and 29 408 females) of COVID-19.

Under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, the total number of people with at least one dose is 160 024 (70.1 per cent of the eligible population).

The total number of fully vaccinated people is 149 281 (55.1 per cent of the total population, or 65.4 per cent of the eligible population).

The eligible population represents people who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
