Celestial Storm should be the one

The number one inside draw could prove decisive for Celestial Storm today as she defends her Coolmore “Home of Champions” Stakes And Trophy at the Garrison Savannah today against a star-studded field.

Ironically, her last success at the trip came in the 2020 edition of this event when she edged Night Prowler by a short head.

Owned and trained by Roger Parravicino, the eight-year-old mare shrugged off a seven-race losing streak by toppling the top class horses on Boxing Day over 1 570 metres.

Today’s showpiece carries a price tag of $58 500 and the grey Celestial Storm, with jockey Delano Lopez astride, should win again as she is the recipient of five pounds from live threats Bodie Tap and Rising Star. Undoubtably, she is the class of the field and makes the biggest appeal. (LY)
