The Barbados Secondary Schools’ Athletic Championship (BSSAC) will be staged later this month at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex.

Assistant meet director and co-chairman of the organising committee, Andrew Brathwaite, confirmed the news to NATION SPORT moments ago.

It will take a different format due to COVID-19 protocols on March 24 and 25, and includes three zones as opposed to two.

Brathwaite said all other information will be revealed at the official launch on Friday at Harrison College, home of the defending boys’ champions.

In 2020 when Barbados recorded its first cases of the coronavirus, it forced the cancellation of the finals of BSSAC as public gatherings were limited to 250.

Last year, organisers abandoned a scaled-down version of the event due to the COVID-19 pandemic. (AGB)
