Shawn “Schwarzenegger” Spencer brought the power and the fire to stun young Shakeem Nurse 21-19 and capture his first A class title in the Q Point Road Tennis Tournament on Friday night at the Kensington Mall.

The $1 500 that southpaw Spencer pocketed seemed not enough reward for the high-class game he played to neutralise the threat and reputation of 16-year-old Nurse, who has become the most feared “Dragon” in road tennis.

“I did not enter this tournament worrying about Shakeem. I was concerned about my mental and physical fitness,” Spencer told Sun Sport, noting he has been working with a trainer Kelvin Hoyte, as well as Simon Bayne and his crew in the Bayne Ballers Academy.

“I also watched Shakeem and I knew that he likes to bait players with high returns to force them to spoil. I also knew that he was worried about my forehand so playing that smart game made the difference.” (KB)
