COVID-19 Update for March 21

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 103 new COVID-19 cases (42 males and 61 females) from the 938 tests conducted on Monday, March 21.

Of the positive cases, 16 were under the age of 18 and 87 were 18 years and older.

There were 47 people in isolation facilities, while 860 were in home isolation.

As at March 21, the number of deaths from the virus was 329.

The public health laboratory carried out 604 589 tests since February 2020, and recorded 57 903 COVID-19 cases (26 841 males and 31 062 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 160 809 (70.4 per cent of the eligible population). The number of fully vaccinated is 150 699 (55.6 per cent of the total population or 66 per cent of the eligible population).  The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older.
