Magicians.

That was how Justice Carlisle Greaves described the gunmen who claim they found their illegal weapons in various places around the island.

But the courts were not fooled, he declared.

“It seems that young men of this country, who get involved in this firearm business, are all magicians who have the ability to say ‘poof’ and a firearm pops up on the street, to let you find it,” Justice Greaves said yesterday as he dealt with self-confessed gunman Temar Damien Nurse in the No. 3 Supreme Court.

“In your case, you have even more special magical powers because ‘poof’, it turns up in the dark of the night, under a tree, in the bushes, in a bag. If you could reveal that secret to the rest of our nation, we could do miracles with our health care and education. ‘Poof’ and we could cure COVID and cancer,” the judge said. (HLE)
