COVID-19 Update for March 27

Barbados recorded 102 new COVID-19 cases (47 males and 55 females) from the 571 tests conducted on Sunday, March 27, by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Of the positive cases, 17 people were under the age of 18 and 85 were 18 years and older.

A total of 47 people were in isolation facilities, while 826 were in home isolation.

An 88-year-old fully vaccinated man passed away from the virus on Sunday.  As at March 27, there were 331 deaths from the virus.

The public health laboratory has carried out 609 170 tests since February 2020, and recorded 58 634 COVID-19 cases (27 170 males and 31 464 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 161 060 (70.5 per cent of the eligible population). The number of fully vaccinated is 151 034 (55.7 per cent of the total population or 66.1 per cent of the eligible population).  The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older.
