218 new virus cases

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory recorded 218 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases (106 males and 112 females) from the 1 043 tests conducted on Tuesday, March 29.

The positive cases consisted of 45 people under the age of 18, and 173 who were 18 years and older.

A total of 47 people were in isolation facilities, while 1 175 were in home isolation.

There were 43 community deaths related to COVID-19 in the last six months. As at March 29, the number of deaths from the virus stood at 374.

The public health laboratory has carried out 611 269 tests since February 2020, and recorded 59 080 COVID-19 cases (27 383 males and 31 697 females).

Under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, the total number of people with at least one dose is 161 089 (70.5 per cent of the eligible population).

The total number of fully-vaccinated people is 151 097 (55.8 per cent of the total population or 66.2 per cent of the eligible population).

The eligible population represents people who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
