More work must be done before the highly anticipated breathalyser testing can be rolled out, says Attorney General Dale Marshall.
Last month, it was announced that roll-out of the Lifeloc FC20 breathalyser tests would begin today, but Marshall said the absence of metered taxis contributed to the delay.
However, president of the Barbados Road Safety Association, Sharmane Roland-Bowen, said she was tired of the excuses and wanted to know why Government officials appeared to be dragging their feet on the matter.
At the time Marshall said: “There are some other matters we want to make sure are fully implemented before we move to that, specifically metered taxi rates. We consider this to be an important prerequisite simply because it will be an important asset to have available to people who might be out for entertainment at night. (TG)
