Extended hours for some fish markets

There will be extended opening hours at select fish markets leading up to Easter.

A notice issued today by Barbados Government Information Service today said that on Thursday, April 14, the Millie Ifill Fish Market, Weston, St James; Bridgetown Public Market, The City; Payne’s Bay Fish Market, Paynes Bay, St James; and Berinda Cox Fish Market, Oistins, Christ Church will open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

However, the markets at Consett Bay, St John and Speightstown, St Peter will continue to operate during the regular hours of 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

All fish markets will be closed on Good Friday, April 15, and Easter Sunday, April 17.

Officials at the Blue Economy Division of the Ministry of the Environment and National Beautification said all coronavirus (COVID-19) protocols are to be observed while conducting business at the markets. (BGIS)
