369 new virus cases

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 369 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, 172 males and 197 females, from the 1 290 tests conducted on Thursday, April 7.

The cases comprised 68 people under the age of 18, and 301 who were 18 years and older.

There were 76 people in isolation facilities, while 1 983 were in home isolation.

Two men, aged 72 and 78, died from the virus on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively.

As at April 7, there were 379 deaths related to COVID-19.

The public health laboratory has carried out 621 919 tests since February 2020, and recorded 61 636 COVID-19 cases (28 523 males and 33 113 females).

Under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, the total number of people with at least one dose is 161 307 (70.6 per cent of the eligible population).  The total number of fully-vaccinated people is 151 402 (55.9 per cent of the total population or 66.3 per cent of the eligible population).
