317 new virus cases

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory recorded 317 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) – 138 males and 179 females – on Friday, April 8. There were a total of 1 275 tests conducted.

Of that number, 56 people were under the age of 18, while 261 were 18 years and older.

The number of people in isolation facilities was 78, while 2 632 were in home isolation. No deaths were recorded, and the total number now stands at 379.

The public health laboratory has carried out 623 194 tests since February 2020, and recorded 61 953 COVID-19 cases (28 661 males and 33 292 females).

Under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, the total number of people with at least one dose is 161 338 (70.6 per cent of the eligible population). The total number of people who are fully vaccinated is 151 441 (55.9 per cent of the total population or 66.3 per cent of the eligible population).
