Recent concerns over an attempted escape of five girls from the Government Industrial School (GIS), was in fact much ado about nothing.

So says Minister of Home Affairs Wilfred Abrahams, who told members of the media this morning that the board has concluded its investigations and, contrary, to what has been suggested on social media, the probe yielded no evidence of abuse at the institution.

The minister disclosed that the five young women were victims of bullying from their peers.

Abrahams also revealed that the police have completed investigations of the much-publicised report last year of a naked 14-year-old girl who was placed in a cell. He said that investigation has produced no evidence of wrongdoing on the part of the school. (CLM)
