674 new COVID cases

A total of 674 people tested positive for COVID-19 – 313 males and 361 females – on Tuesday, April 19, from the 1 878 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The positive cases consisted of 130 people under the age of 18, and 544 who were 18 years and older.

There were 84 people in isolation facilities, while 2 966 were in home isolation.

As at April 19, there were 386 COVID-19 related deaths.

The public health laboratory has conducted 635 587 tests since February 2020, and recorded 65 770 COVID-19 cases (30 331 males and 35 439 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 161,537 (70.7 per cent of the eligible population). The total number of fully vaccinated is 151 667 (56 per cent of the total population or 66.4 per cent of the eligible population).  The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
