The United States has adjusted its travel advisory to Barbados, placing the island on Level 1 status and simply advising its citizens to take normal precautions when travelling here.

It is a significant upgrade from the US government, which had previously placed Barbados on Level 4, where it warned Americans not to visit due to significantly high levels of the COVID-19 virus, but, should they, to be vaccinated against the viral illness.

The latest advisory was updated on Easter Monday.

According to the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, Barbados still has high levels of COVID-19, but Americans were advised to exercise normal precautions. (BA/PR)
