Dane Skeete and Tyler Mayhew, in their familiar Subaru Impreza WRC S12, are the No. 1 seeds for today’s Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Shakedown Double Header, which marks the club’s return to road rallying for the first time since December 2020.

The Sol Rally Barbados 2019 winners head an impressive field of 46 crews on the running order. They include overseas visitors Paul Horton, Jeff Panton and Rob Swann, who returned to Barbados last week to continue their hunt for points in the First Citizens BMF R5 Rally Championship.

The first event in the double header, the opening round of the BRC Driver’s And Class Championships, is scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m. from Pool Plantation.

There will be four runs in each direction, first from Malvern to Wilson Hill, then the reverse after the lunch break, allowing the stage crews to prepare for the change of direction.

Although this is a speed event, the BMF will be calculating it as a rally for the purposes of the R5 Championship, on cumulative times for the eight runs, rather than on the single fastest stage time in each direction.
