323 new virus cases

Barbados recorded 323 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, 151 males and 172 females, from the 1 092 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Sunday, April 24.

Of the positive cases, 63 people were under the age of 18, and 260 were 18 years and older.

There were 89 people in isolation facilities, while 3 136 were in home isolation.

An unvaccinated 55-year-old man died from the viral illness on Sunday.

As at April 24, there were 390 deaths related to COVID-19.

The public health laboratory has conducted 642 390 tests since February 2020, and recorded 67 934 COVID-19 cases (31 250 males and 36 684 females).

Under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, the total number of people with at least one dose is 161 663 (70.8 per cent of the eligible population).

The total number of fully vaccinated people is 151 824 (56 per cent of the total population, or 66.5 per cent of the eligible population).

The eligible population represents people who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
