Job opportunities in Canada

Job opportunities are available for Barbadians interested in employment in Canada.

The Barbados Employment and Career Counselling Service (BECCS), which falls under the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and the Third Sector, said in a statement on Monday that interested people may submit résumés for consideration for positions of room attendant and/or steward.

For the position of room attendant, applicants should possess related experience of at least one year in the hotel industry, great interpersonal and public relations skills, and must be physically fit.

With respect to the vacancy for steward, applicants should possess similar experience of at least one year in an established kitchen environment. They must also be able to display professional work ethics, a knowledge of safety and health procedures, and must be physically fit.

Applicants must be 18 years or older; have a valid Barbados passport, and be able to obtain a clean Police Certificate of Character. Applicants must also be free of any infractions outside the jurisdiction of Barbados.
