The following statement was issued by the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) on the passing of Rev. Johnny Tudor.

The Democratic Labour Party (DLP) is saddened to learn of the sudden death of former Parliamentarian the Reverend Dr Joseph Johnny Tudor.

Johnny, as we all called him, was a two-term Member of Parliament for the DLP in St Michael East. He was a politician who understood that his mission was to serve and he served his constituents faithfully and diligently.

His philanthropic work was legendary and there is much he did for others that never made headlines. There are persons in the constituency who still speak of the work he did.

Never one to mince matters, one always knew where Johnny stood and his circle of friends within and outside the political realm was as wide as his warm and embracing personality.

His recent call to the Ministry of God was answered with the same passion with which he approached his politics.

He has now transitioned to higher service.

The DLP would like to take this opportunity to express sincere condolences to the Tudor family. May his soul Rest In Peace. (PR)
