232 new virus cases

A total of 232 people, 117 males and 115 females, tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) on Wednesday, May 25, from among the 935 tests carried out by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Of the positive cases, 55 people were under the age of 18, and 177 were 18 years and older. There were 63 people in isolation facilities, while 2 881 were in home isolation. As at May 25, there were 444 deaths related to COVID-19.

The public health laboratory has conducted 683 255 tests since February 2020, and recorded 79 860 COVID-19 cases (36 481 males and 43 379 females).

Under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, the total number of people with at least one dose is 162 312 (71.1 per cent of the eligible population).

The total number of fully-vaccinated people is 152 704 (56.3 per cent of the total population or 66.9 per cent of the eligible population).

The eligible population represents people who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
