King of the Hill back in action today

Local motorsport fans will have their deepest desires met and their passionate prayers answered as First Citizens King of the Hill makes its long-awaited return today.

After last year’s cancellation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, King of the Hill officially gets going at 10:30 a.m. at Content in St Thomas before concluding at the Vaucluse Raceway in the same parish.

The sprint shakedown serves as a precursor to the island’s premier motorsport event, Sol Rally Barbados on June 4 and 5 as the results are used to seed participants but in recent years, the event has taken on a significance and buzz of its own.

Rally director and BRC vice-chairman Neil Barnard told Sun Sport while some final touches still have to be put on their Rally preparations, all systems are go for today’s bragging rights sprint.  (NM)
