COVID-19 Update for June 4

Barbados recorded 108 new COVID-19 cases, 42 males and 66 females, from the 455 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Saturday, June 4.

Of the positive cases, 25 people were under the age of 18, and 83 were 18 years and older.

There were 40 people in isolation facilities, while 1 510 were in home isolation.

No deaths were recorded yesterday, so the number of COVID-19 related deaths remains at 462.

The public health laboratory has conducted 690 034 tests since February 2020, and recorded 81 427 COVID-19 cases (37 147 males and 44 280 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 162 464 (71.1 per cent of the eligible population). The number of fully vaccinated is 152 912 (67 009 males and 85 903 females), which represents 56.4 per cent of the total population, or 67 per cent of the eligible population. The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older.  (BGIS)
