COVID-19 Update for June 5

The number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded on Sunday, June 5, was 91, comprising 40 males and 51 females, from 365 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The new cases consist of 25 people under the age of 18, and 66 who were 18 years and older. There are now 45 people in isolation facilities and 1 439 in home isolation.

One death, that of a 60-year-old vaccinated male, was recorded yesterday.

The public health laboratory has carried out 690 399 tests since February 2020 and recorded 81 518 cases (37 187 males and 44 331 females) of COVID-19.

To date, 463 deaths have been recorded.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 162 481 (71.1 per cent of the eligible population).

The number of people who are fully vaccinated is 152 917 (56.4 per cent of the total population or 67.0 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
