Dane Skeete is once again the rallying king in Barbados.

The 2019 Rally Barbados winner spent the majority of the weekend among the fastest competitors and was adjudged as the 2022 provisional winner of Sol Rally Barbados after the final super special stage at Bushy Park late yesterday evening.

The 30-year-old Skeete was tipped for victory from the start, not only because of his entertaining execution and daring driving, but partly because of his rich rallying heritage, passed down from his father Roger “The Sheriff” Skeete.

In front of a swell of support on the rally’s opening stage at Kendal, Skeete enjoyed a hot start to a sweltering day of action, finishing the course in a provisional time of 3:25.62 minutes.

Frank Bird was four seconds slower in 3:29.88 minutes while Stuart Maloney was only a bit slower in 3:29.95. Mark Maloney was fourth in 3:33.10.  (NM)
